The luxury condo project set to be built at the corner of Spring and Garden streets has been redesigned, adding two more stories. The plans have yet to go before the Architectural Review Board.

“We originally planned The Waverly to be a 54-unit, seven-story building” said John Buzzell, developer of The Waverly and managing partner at Bearing Point Properties. “After overwhelming interest and feedback in this landmark property, we have decided to add two more stories to the building, introducing an eighth and ninth floor, which offer larger residences and even more stunning waterfront views.”

PensaCan, Manna Win

PensaCan 2023 raised the equivalent of 19,261 healthy meals for neighbors in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties through donations of food and funds to Manna.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida Northwest again partnered with Manna for this year’s PensaCan: Demolish Hunger, Design Hope.

PensaCan is a competition where architectural firms and community amateurs create impressive structures made entirely out of full cans of food. Following a week-long display of the structures at Cordova Mall, all food is donated to Manna for distribution to the hungry of Northwest Florida.

At an awards ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 3 held at Beyond the Grape at Cordova Mall, winners were announced in the following categories:
