Lt. Cmdr. Barber, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross medal, will be celebrated on the Cabot Flight Deck at the National Naval Aviation Museum on Monday, May 6, at 10 a.m.
Renowned for his remarkable service and dedication, he continues to inspire visitors every Tuesday by sharing his captivating stories in front of the PBY-5 aircraft that he crewed in during WWII. Even at 100 years old, Lt. Cmdr. Barber remains committed to his weekly tours, captivating museum visitors with his firsthand accounts of history.
Recently, Lt. Cmdr. Barber had the honor of meeting Catalina, a young female yellow lab in training with Mutts with a Mission. Catalina, named after the legendary amphibious aircraft flown by Lt. Cmdr. Barber during WWII, represents the enduring legacy of service and sacrifice.
