DayJet grounded

The culprit, according to Herald Tribune: problems in the financial markets in May after failing to secure $40 million for expansion plans.

The Boca Raton-based company launched its per-seat, on-demand service in October 2007 with bases in Gainesville and Boca Raton. It offered flights between 60 Southeastern cities that do not have direct flights from major carriers.

The grounding will have a minimal impact on the Pensacola economy.
