The Hill is reporting that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel recommended today that the Pentagon strip commanders of the ability to overturn verdicts in military criminal court cases. The proposed change in the military’s judicial code comes in the wake of widespread outrage on Capitol Hill over a sexual assault guilty verdict that was dismissed in February.
