Ronna McDaniel has won her fourth term as chair of the Republican National Committee, thanks to an endorsement from Donald Trump, leaving little doubt about the former president’s hold on the party.
Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared to back Harmeet Dhillon from California. During an interview on “The Charlie Kirk Show” yesterday, DeSantis said, “We’ve had three substandard election cycles in a row, ’18, ’20, and ’22, and I’d say ’22 was the worst…I think we need a change. I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC. I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said.”
Dhillon tried to capitalize on DeSantis’ statement, initialing posting on her website that DeSantis had endorsed her. She later took it down but said it added momentum to her bid for the chair. Apparently it wasn’t enough.
To attribute a quality of beadiness to Ron DeSantis’s eyes is to imbue him with an acuity that he doesn’t possess.
His eyes are, in fact, dead. They’re lifeless pans that bounce back light like a shark’s.
And however much that mechanism would increase his ability to mark a target, his is a slow-swimming sociopathy in which normal cognition is substituted with a 360 degree field of menace.
As a result, DeSantis doesn’t target particular prey. He neutralizes any external signal that impinges on his limbic system with a threat to discompose his dominion. While it’s true that eyesight is one of his mechanisms for processing such disturbances, it is hardly his most dangerous feature, nor his most deadly.
Ron is not going to fare well on the national stage. He’s thin-skinned, filled with rage, and when he gets a question he didn’t approve his head inflates another 25%, jaws lock, and those shifty, beady eyes cast about looking for the rat hole exit.
Trump will make mincemeat out of him.
