2ND ANNUAL DOWNTOWN RESIDENTIAL OPEN HOUSE
DIB Hosts Tours of Existing & Planned Downtown Residential Offerings
PENSACOLA FL – On Sunday, October 8, 2006, the Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) will host the 2nd Annual Downtown Residential Open House. The tours will take place from 1:00-5:00 p.m., and guests may choose to see Downtown’s residential offerings through self-directed driving or walking tours or by riding on one of the guided trolleys. In addition to the DIB, the event’s other sponsors are Escambia County Housing Finance Authority and People’s First Community Bank. Advance registration is required.
Dozens of existing and planned residential properties will be open for viewing, with representatives on-site to field questions and/or comments. Both rental and for-sale units and homes are participating in the tour, which includes condominiums, apartments, duplexes, lofts and single family homes. An abridged listing of properties include those such as Lofts on Intendencia, Aragon, Palafox Pier, Court of North Hill, Crowne Cove, Bayfront Lofts, Carlton Palms, Lofts at Alcaniz Center and Port Royal. Most of Downtown’s residential projects are participating in the Open House and will be available for rent or purchase.
“With the recent boom in housing here in Downtown Pensacola, we wanted to offer an opportunity for everyone to see for themselves just how great Downtown living can be. The residential projects that are coming out of the ground, as well as a resurgence in interest in living in the center city, is a boost to our revitalization efforts,†said Kim Kimbrough, Executive Director of the DIB.
Cost for tickets is $10.00/each and they may be purchased in advance by visiting the web site at www.downtownpensacola.com or calling the DIB at 850.434.5371. Some openings will be available on the day of the event, but they will be limited. All guests, reserved or walk-up, will need to check in to get a map of the Open House route and their name tags, which will allow them access to the properties. The tours start in front of Distinctive Kitchens (29 Palafox Place) and those travelling by trolley will be boarding at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
