The excuse being used to defend Mike Whitehead in the Roads, Inc. fundraiser – and was also used by former County Administrator George Touart – is that Escambia County is so small that it is hard to avoid conflicts.
No, no, no. Every politician has to make choices. Whitehead is the chairman of the Escambia County Commission. Roads, Inc. is suing the people that he serves. Whitehead has to put the citizens ahead of his campaign.
Touart, Whitehead and the other Bubbas want to have their cake and eat it, too. They want all the money and all the power. We are suppose to trust their integrity.
Touart, Whitehead and the other Bubbas want to confuse the issue by saying Grover Robinson had campaign contribution from Roads, Inc. When Grover accepted the check, there was no lawsuit between Roads and the County.
Whitehead needs to be step down or be removed as county chairman. He needs to recuse himself from any meetings involving the lawsuit with Roads, Inc.
