Economic Development on RESTORE Agenda

restoreThe Escambia County RESTORE Act Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting in the county’s downtown administrative building this afternoon. The relocation allows for the meetings to be videoed and broadcast.

Today’s RESTORE meeting includes two economic development presentations. The first is from Scott Luth, of the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. The second presentation is from Tony McRay, economic development director for the local NAACP.

Also on this afternoon’s agenda, is a presentation on the Southwest Florida Regional Ecosystem Restoration Plan. The plan was approved March 8 by a collection of South Florida officials, and stems from a list of priorities put together by the three Southwest Florida National Estuary Programs for consideration by the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council and the state of Florida; the plan used criteria defined by the RESTORE Act.

Today’s RESTORE advisory committee meeting begins at 4 p.m., and will be held in the county commission chambers of the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, located downtown on Palafox Place.
