The state is investigating the tasing of one of it’s undercover beverage agents by Escambia Sheriff’s Deputies. It happened at the liquor cabinet store on Fairfield and Lillian around one yesterday.
Two agents were making an undercover buy when a customer saw one of the agent’s gun.
Thinking the store was being robbed.. the customer called deputies.
When deputies arrived… They ordered the two agents to the ground…. but agent Ira Mcqueen didn’t comply. Mcqueen was attacked by a police dog and tased.
The Sheriff’s Office says it followed procedures ..Adding Mcqueen never displayed a badge.
An ABC spokesperson says the 25 year veteran tried to identify himself during the incident.
The State Inspector General is reviewing the case.
