The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office will hold special ceremony 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 to honor the law enforcement officers involved in the shooting Dec. 6 at NAS Pensacola. The event is open to the public and will be held inside the Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, 6205 North W St.
Sheriff David Morgan will present Purple Heart awards to ECSO Deputy Jonathan Glass, Deputy Matthew Tinch and DOD Police Captain Charles Hogue. All were shot while engaging the shooter.
Medal of Valor awards will also be awarded to:
