ECUA and ECAT sit it out today

There will be no garbage pick up today and ECAT will not run its bus routes.

ECAT BUS SERVICE IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS

Late Tuesday night, Escambia County was placed under a local state of emergency as a response to the severe weather front that has impacted the County.

Escambia County Emergency Management is asking people not to drive if possible on Wednesday. Localized flooding may have damaged roads and bridges. Also, storm debris can pose another serious safety threat to drivers.

Due to the severe weather and local flooding, Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) is cancelling bus service for Wednesday, April 30, 2014 until further notice. ECAT will not run bus service or UWF Trolley service.

• ECAT employees are not to report to work. ECAT employees should contact their immediate supervisor, if they have any additional questions.

• Residents in Escambia County that need non-emergency assistance can call the Citizens Information Center at 850-471-6600.
