I’ve now heard from more than one source that ECUA officials and, at least, one board member have been talking about placing a downtown transfer station on the site of the current Main Street Sewage Treatment once it’s demolished.
This may be more threat —or what some at ECUA like to call a negotiating technique— than a reality. Escambia County recently bought a transfer station owned by Allied Waste at the request of ECUA. That station is for ECUA’s and the public’s use.
