In June 2004, UWF and the Listener Group conducted a survey of county residents on a wide variety of local issues. One was on the relocating the Main Street sewage treatment plant. People were given a statement then asked if they agreed with it.
Survey statement:
Move and Replace with State & Federal Help: The plant should be removed and a new plant constructed only if officials can get at least 50% of the cost paid for by state and federal funds.
