State Atty Bill Eddins’ office has interviewed the city council members and others, and he has decided there will be no further investigation of the allegations made by Tom Garner (Garner charges City Council broke law).
I spent the afternoon in Milton on WEBY so I missed the fax giving the exact wording of Mr. Eddins’ press release, but this does clear the Pensacola City Council’s names. Garner still has the option of filing a complaint with the state ethics commission, I guess.
Kenneth Lamb informed me that he was in the room with someone who called WCOA during McCoy’s show with Marty. The screener was given the information from Eddins office and was asked to tell McCoy since he and Marty were discussing the charges.
Luke never mentioned the decision on the air. Never.
If the screener told him about the decision and McCoy didn’t tell his listeners, then McCoy owes the Pensacola City Council an apology. He has an obligation to give his listeners the facts and give them breaking news that impacts the topic he is covering.
