The prosecution rested its case yesterday against the chief of staff for jailed former Okaloosa County Charlie Morris. Sabra Thornton is accused of stealing money from the county by manipulating Morris, who is serving time in federal prison for operating a bonus kickback scheme, into using stolen funds to pay her bills and buy her gifts.
Prosecutor Russ Edgar has worked hard to convince the jury that Thornton did little to deserve her $80,000/year salary.
