Education budget slashed

According to news reports, the Florida Legislature cut the education budget about 8 percent, which averages to $542 per student. Doing the math, Escambia County with its 40,227 students stands to lose $21.8 million, Santa Rosa (25,533 students) $13.8 million. It’s difficult to imagine how the districts can take these financial hits and not be impacted.
