Pensacola and the University of West Florida will be well represented at the 2018 Future of Florida Forum. which is hosted by Florida Chamber Foundation Wednesday, Sept. 26 and Thursday, Sept. 27 in Orlando. The annual event is where Florida’s business community gathers elected officials, legislators, and industry leaders to discuss the issues that matter most to Florida’s long-term future. The topics range from talent and workforce needs, current and future cyber-security risks, to paving pathways to economic prosperity, Florida’s future water needs, autonomous vehicles, and building up women in leadership.
Three local thought leaders, Dr. Eman El-Sheikh, Mike Myhre and Quint Studer, are among the key speakers, which also include Gov. Rick Scott, GOP gubernatorial nominee Ron DeSantis, DEO Director Cissy Proctor and Wayne Huizenga, Jr.
Dr. El-Sheikh is the director of the UWF Center for Cybersecurity. Myhre is the CEO of UWF’s Florida Small Business Development Center Network, and Studer heads Studer Community Institute and is UWF’s Entrepreneur in Residence.
