Mayor Mike Wiggins reported that Bayou Texar now has triple booming. City staff is booming the grass areas near the trestle and Wayside Park.
The second phase of Greenshores (near Pitt’s Slip) has boom. Pitt’s Slip has anchors for boom but remains open due to the boat traffic and that there is very little tide in the slip area.
The entrance of Bruce Beach has been boomed, and 1100 feet of boom is being placed to protect the riprap there.
Sanders Beach is fine.
Mayor Wiggins pleaded for patience. He reported several boaters using the Bayou Texar boat slip have been upset over the boom there. There is a number for boat owners to call to have boom open for them to enter and leave area waterways.
