Escambia County Ninth Graders struggled with new FCAT reading

Escambia High School had 60 percent of its ninth grade fail to test at or above their grade level. Pensacola High had 49 percent below grade level, but if you back out the 85 IB students who scored a five, the percentage matches EHS’s 60 percent.

West Florida High bested all the Escambia County schools with only 34 percent reading below grade level.

The District’s Camelot Academy had only one student out of 25 ninth graders score at his/her grade level on reading.

Santa Rosa County had two school who did well – Gulf Breeze High had 80 percent reading at or above grade level. Pace High had 71 percent.
