The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation for its “Empty the Shelters” event, offering free adoptions for dogs and cats one year or older from Friday, Sept. 18 through Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Empty the Shelters is the nation’s largest funded adoption event and has helped more than 431,000 pets find homes across the U.S. and Canada since 2016.
What it will cost:
- Dogs and cats one year or older: free, plus a $15 licensing fee for Escambia County residents
- Puppies under one year: $50
- Kittens under one year: $25
All pets available through the program are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before they go home.
BISSELL Pet Foundation was founded in 2011 by Cathy Bissell and has partnered with more than 5,800 shelters and rescues across the U.S. and Canada. The foundation is backed by BISSELL Homecare, Inc., where every purchase supports the mission.
