The county attorney sent this email to the Escambia County Commissioners:
Commissioners~
Please be aware that this afternoon, the Mayor of the City of Pensacola removed the First National Flag of the Confederate States from its flag displays. Based on the BCC’s action of March 5, 2015 (see attached Resolution 2015-26) the BCC follows the City of Pensacola with regards to historical flag displays. Thus, based on the BCC action in March, the historical flags flying at the Bay Center should not include the National Flag of the Confederacy, at least as long as the City has decided not to fly it.
I mention this because my office is receiving notice that there may be several folks at the public forum tonight who wish to address this issue.
