Escambia County tourism continues to rise

According to the tourism metric report that will be discussed at this week;s Visit Pensacola board meeting, tourist development tax collections were up $800,000 for calendar year 2015 over 2014–jumping from $8.6 million to $9.4 million, a 9 percent increase.

Occupancy was up slightly – 2015: 64.7 percent 2014:64.2 percent – but the length of stay increased by a day and a half – 2015 8.8 days 2014 7.3 days.

The visitors spent $17 a day more on average and $392 more over their total stay.
