Flooding Event News Release #6
Escambia County officials continue to evaluate the damage from the flooding event on Tuesday, April 29. Escambia County has begun a full inspection of roads, bridges and other infrastructure.

An American Red Cross shelter is located at the Fricker Community Center, 900 North “F” Street, Pensacola.

The Escambia Tax Collector Office in Warrington is closed indefinitely due to flood damage. All other tax collector offices are open for regular business.
The Florida Department of Transportation and Escambia County Outreach Event scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Escambia County Road Prison has cancelled visitation hours for the weekend due to recovery efforts.

Escambia County Extension phones are currently down, however, the office is open for business.

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority ECUA residential and commercial sanitation collections resumed today but are delayed by one day for the balance of the week. Collections scheduled for yesterday are being collected today, Thursday’s and Friday’s collections will follow suit and be made on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

All services are being provided including curbside recycling, yard waste and bulk waste collections. Yard waste and bulk waste collection may be delayed due to the heavy volume of flood debris. Collection crews will be working overtime and weekends until the clean-up is completed. Please do not place any debris in the right of way unless it is ready to be removed by ECUA collection crews. ECUA is asking the community to report water or sewer main breaks by calling (850) 476-0480 or after hours call (850) 476-5110. For more information on ECUA boil water notices please visit their website by clicking here.

Residents in Escambia County who need non-emergency assistance can call the Citizens Information Center at (850) 471-6600.
