Escambia County voters are doing it early

According to the Escambia Supervisor of Elections’ office, nearly 16,000 voters have already cast their votes for the Aug. 30 primary:

Mail-in: 14,261
Early Vote: 1,643

Total 15,904

The breakdown by Party:

REP 9,931
DEM 4,559
OTH 1,414

In 2014, 19,600 Republicans cast their votes in the GOP primary. In 2012, 30,533 Republicans voted in that primary. So our estimate is about a third of the GOP voters have cast their votes.

On the Democratic side, 10,326 voted in 2014, and 15,621 Democrats voted in 2012 primary. We estimate a little less than a third have already voted.

WEDNESDAY IS FINAL DAY TO REQUEST VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOTS TO BE MAILED

Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford reminds voters who wish to be mailed a vote-by-mail ballot for the August 30 Primary Election to request their ballot no later than Wednesday, August 24. Voters can make their request by using the online form at EscambiaVotes.com or by contacting the Supervisor of Elections by mail, phone (850) 595-3900, fax (850) 595-3914, or e-mail (votebymail@escambiavotes.com).
