Superintendent Malcolm Thomas and his district leadership team need to tell us what their plan is to turn around its 17 low performing schools – 13 elementary, three middles and one high school. This appears to be a district-wide problem with over a third of its non-charter schools performing at the bottom.

We need to avoid the blame game -pointing fingers at teachers, parents and students- and seek long-term solutions.
