Escambia Math Scores reveal failure to keep pace

Escambia County students in grades 3-8 performing at or above grade level were only two percentage points behind the state average at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year but finished nine points behind.

Statewide PM1: 14% PM3: 56%

Escambia PM1: 12% PM3: 47%

Elementary Schools

The elementary schools did better than the middle schools. Fourth graders finished three points higher than the state average – coming from six points below.

The middle scores were pulled down by the eighth grade – which started at 3% performing at grade level or above.  However, none of the middle grades averaged higher than 28%.
