Escambia County Public Schools (ECPS) has reached a salary agreement with the Escambia Education Association (EEA) and the Union of Escambia Education Staff Professionals for the 2024-2025 school year.
The agreement includes:
– Teacher raises ranging from $800 to $3,000, based on current salary levels and performance ratings
– Increased minimum teacher salary from $47,500 to $48,300
– 1% cost-of-living adjustment plus 2% step increase for eligible Educational Support staff
– 4% step increase for School Bus Operators
– Pay grade increases for select employee groups
“This agreement represents significant progress for our educators and support staff,” said EEA President Darzell Warren and ESP President Nicole Lindsey in a joint statement. “While we celebrate these meaningful improvements in wages and working conditions, we remain committed to pursuing further enhancements that benefit our educators, support staff, and students. Our goal is to establish a model of excellence for other districts to follow.”
The unions will distribute ratification packets with ballots to all work sites in the coming weeks. “Both union members and non-members should participate in this important vote,” emphasized Caroline Gray, ECPS Chief Negotiator. “The voting results will accompany our salary increase request for School Board approval.”
The ratification vote is expected to take place in late February, with the proposal scheduled for the School Board’s March 18, 2025 meeting.
