ECPS Schools and Offices to Remain Closed Tuesday, October 13, 2026
Pensacola, FL – ECPS campuses and offices will remain closed on Tuesday, October 13, as district personnel and contractors are actively making repairs and mitigating damage across our campuses.
We are working closely with local utilities to re-establish vital services to our campuses.
Transportation officials are working to ensure all bus routes can be run safely.
ECPS will continue to provide updates via Focus Communications, social media, and local media outlets. As always, the safety of our students, their families, our employees and this community remains our top priority.
SANTA ROSA SCHOOLS
On behalf of Dr. Barber, we hope that you and your families are safe following the storm and as clean up and recovery are ongoing.
District staff have been assessing damage to sites and campuses and the impact of Hurricane Isaias. Based on the information we have, campuses will not be ready for the return of students and staff on Tuesday, October 13th, and schools and district offices will continue to be closed. This includes all district- and school-sponsored activities, practices, and athletic contests, with the exception of the School Board meeting on Tuesday. Crews will need additional time to complete the cleanup and recovery efforts at our schools and roads need to be clear and safe for school buses to run.
Our campuses remain closed and there should be no staff or visitors on campus. Also, all district and school sponsored activities, practices, and athletic contest are canceled, except for the regularly scheduled school board meeting on Tuesday, which will still take place.
At this time, we are waiting on information from Emergency Management, Florida Power and Light, and Escambia River Electric Co-op related to the clearing of roads and restoration of utilities, including power and water, to our schools, and from our maintenance department that our schools are clean, safe, and ready for students. Our goal is to open as soon as Wednesday, October 14th, but that determination will be made on a school-by-school basis by Tuesday evening.
If we are not ready for a complete county opening, families will be notified on a school by school basis.
As always, the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority. If families are in need of resources during this time, please contact the United Way at 211 to for resources and support.
Please stay tuned to district communication channels throughout the week for any additional information.

Feeding the Gulf Coast Mobilizes Emergency Food and Water
Disaster relief distributions are underway through community partners across the Florida Panhandle
Milton, FL (October 12, 2026)— In the wake of the extensive damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Isaias, Feeding the Gulf Coast has activated its disaster response operations to provide critical food, water, and essential supplies to affected communities. Emergency disaster relief distributions are underway, providing ready-to-eat meals (MREs), bottled water, and other essential supplies to neighbors affected by the storm. The organization continues working with community partners and emergency response organizations to identify emerging needs and expand assistance as recovery progresses.
“When a hurricane causes this level of damage, many of our neighbors are left facing immediate challenges, including access to food and clean water,” said Michael Ledger, president and CEO of Feeding the Gulf Coast. “Our priority is getting food, water and essential supplies to affected communities as quickly as possible. We are working closely with our partners to respond to immediate needs and will continue providing assistance as communities begin the long process of recovery.”
Feeding the Gulf Coast is coordinating ongoing relief and recovery efforts with local and state emergency management agencies, Feeding America, Feeding Florida, and its network of community partners to respond to ongoing needs across the Florida Panhandle. While emergency food and water are critical in the immediate aftermath of a hurricane, the need for assistance often continues as neighbors face lost income, unexpected expenses, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives.
Community support is essential to sustaining these efforts. Donations to Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Hurricane Isaias Relief Fund help provide food, water, and essential supplies to neighbors affected by the storm throughout recovery. To contribute, visit https://give.feedingthegulfcoast.org/hurricaneisaias.
Distributions will be listed on our website. Individuals seeking food assistance can visit feedingthegulfcoast.org to locate nearby food pantries and distributions. Because storm conditions may affect operating hours and availability, individuals are encouraged to call locations before visiting.
