ESP to Host CNG Workshop

Pensacola officials will join other natural-gas players for a workshop in Miramar Beach in December. The event will focus on transitioning commercial fleets to run on compressed natural gas (CNG).

“With the tremendous interest we have seen, from municipalities to public utility providers to independent operators, we thought this would be a great opportunity to bring a number of natural gas providers together in one place and explain the benefits of fleet conversion,” said Don Suarez, executive director of ESP Natural Gas, the Pensacola-owned gas company.

Topics to be discussed at the workshop include availability of CNG vehicles and fueling stations. Grants and tax incentives for converting fleets will also be covered.

The city and ESP are hosting the workshop along with the Clean Vehicle Foundation, the cities of DeFunkiak Springs and Mariana, Gulf Breeze Natural Gas, Natural Gas of Milton, the Okaloosa Gas District and TECO.

The workshop will be held Dec. 6 at The Grand Sandestin. There is a $50 fee to register. For more information, call 436-5050.
