Evers shares wisdom. No really, that’s what it says

Press Release by Natalie Custodio:
Tallahassee- Representative Greg Evers took a breather this morning from committee meetings to offer his own experience and wisdom to Florida’s next generation of civic-minded individuals. Representative Evers participated in a panel discussion alongside a few of his peers before the Florida Campus Compact Student Scholars’ Institute, fielding candid questions from college students on the issues most relevant to them today.

Representative Evers contributed his expertise in environmental issues and public safety to his service on House committees and highlighted his extensive background in farming and agriculture. He also emphasized the importance of natural resource management and economic development, offering insight to what is required for progress in these vital areas.

Florida Campus Compact hosted its third annual Student Scholars’ Institute to encourage and celebrate a select group of students dedicated to civic engagement within their communities. The Student Scholars’ Institute focused on skill-building and networking events where collegiate juniors and seniors were able to interact one-on-one with government officials, policy-makers and dignitaries from all over the state. Activities included keynote speakers and brainstorming sessions on how public policy can be improved beginning with the student body. Participants hope to return to their communities with a renewed sense of purpose and perspective.
