Ex-Googler and Entrepreneur Inspires Local Innovators at Biggest Innovation Awards Program in Florida

In 1994 he became CEO of Webhire, and would later become the CEO of the image organizer and image viewing website, Picasa. The innovative software would catch the eye of Google, who acquired the program in 2004.

Lars Perkins is the featured speaker at the Innovation Coast’s Innovation Awards. This prestigious event will be held at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front on November 6-7.

The Innovation Coast Innovation Awards can be summed up in one word. Big. Ten companies selected as finalists are competing for cash and prizes worth more than $215,000, making this the single largest business plan competition in Florida’s history. Microsoft is awarding qualifying companies and start-ups with software, support, development tools and more to help build the local businesses. In addition, Microsoft will award the three most promising software development entries a “Microsoft BizSpark Plus” subscription, $60,000 value in Microsoft software and Azure services.
