Face of the local government

The first person that people meet when they visit Pensacola City Hall, Escambia County Office Complex on Palafox or Escambia Public School District headquarters on Pace Boulevard is a security guard.

While the ones at the Escambia County Office Complex are pleasant, the guards at city hall seem like they are upset that you bothered them. I miss Carolyn who greeted everyone at city hall with a smile. She was a wonderful ambassador for the city and made people feel glad to be there and a part of Pensacola.

Pensacola City Hall was designed to be open and inviting to the public. Sadly, it’s become more like a fortress where the elites have security passes and the hoi pollo are left to be scrutinized by Bubbas, who look like they want to strip search everyone who enters the first floor.

Yes, I definitely miss Carolyn.
