Really? Beach Boys? Really?….I didn’t hear yesterday much enthusiasm for the Rinke concert idea. Now my readers aren’t into 60s nostalgia and many have already planned their fall around ACC and SEC football games….but Beach Boys? The last time they played here was in the 1980s at the Civic Center.
The hotel voucher program makes sense and could be beefed up, but the concert series seems like too little and way too late…..and way too old performers.
And I still don’t think renting a stage is proper use of the Beach Improvement Fund.
Put the BP money into DeLuna Fest entertainment, increase the hotel vouchers to $100 and advertise the heck of the vouchers, Deluna Fest, Fiesta Seafood Festival and Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival.
