Festival formerly known as SpringFest update

We have received committments on nearly $25000 in sponsorships. Bands require down payments so we’ve got to have funds in the bank to get this thing started. We’re working on establishing the non-profit and will have it in place soon.
Voting for the festival’s new name is heavy on INweekly.net. We are looking at tying the event to Military Appreciation Month, and there are a few big names that have expressed interest in playing…again we’re not out to spend $$$$$ on huge names, but we’ll listen to proposals.

One idea we want to float out for feedback:

We’re looking at making the music fest a two-day event- Saturday and Sunday. On Friday night, we will create a Pub Crawl where some of the bands in the festival would play at local clubs – Fish House, Seville, Intermission, Old Town Cavern, NY Nicks, End of the Line, The Handlebar, Sluggos, Captn Fun…

Two days keeps cost down…meaning more money for bands, maybe even a third stage. We don’t shutdown Jefferson St. on a weekday. It’s been advised that we charge something to keep the crowds managable so we’re considering $5 a day – $10 for family.
