Flooding leads to non-profit agencies closing for the day

Non-Profit Agency Closures due to Flooding
Pensacola, Fla. – April 30, 2014

Due to severe flooding of roadways, homes and vehicles, United Way of Escambia County and several partner agencies are closed today. As of 7am, the following have notified United Way an updated list will be circulated to media at 8:30am. Those listed below plan to reopen with normal operations on Thursday, May 1st. Area non-profit agencies are encouraged to call or email United Way of Escambia County with their estimates of uninsured content or damages so that they can be added to a request for a federal declaration of disaster.

Alzheimer’s Family Services Office
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (7 clubs located in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties)
Chain Reaction
The Community Action Program Head Start and All other Community Action Programs
Gulf Coast Kids House
Gulf Coast Council, Boy Scouts of America Office
Health & Hope Clinics locations
Manna Food Pantries
United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Florida Offices
UCP’s Capstone Academy Pensacola and Milton
UCP’s Children’s Services Center and Milton Child Care Center

Unique operations are as follows:
BRACE will be represented at the EOC throughout the State of Emergency.
2-1-1 information and referral agents will work from their homes for the duration of the State of Emergency.
Chain Reaction’s luncheon is cancelled for today.
