Florida has over 1.3 million signed up for Obamacare

Nearly 7.5 million consumers selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled through the HealthCare.gov platform as of Jan. 30, 2015, including 1,339,791 in Florida.

Today’s Weekly Enrollment Snapshot for the first time also includes people who selected a plan or were automatically reenrolled within select Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs). This localized data provides another level of detail to better understand total plan selections within local communities ahead of the Feb. 15 deadline.

As of Jan. 30 –

  • 637,514 consumers in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL local area selected or were automatically enrolled in a plan
  • 162,125 consumers in the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, FL local area selected or were automatically enrolled in a plan
  • 142,905 consumers in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL local area selected or were automatically enrolled in a plan
  • 67,294 consumers in the Jacksonville, FL local area selected or were automatically enrolled in a plan 36,646 consumers in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, FL local area selected or were automatically enrolled in a plan.

“There are just eleven days before the February 15 deadline and the end of this year’s Open Enrollment,” HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell said. “Time is running out. Consumers should shop at HealthCare.gov for an affordable plan that fits their budget and health needs and join the 1,339,791 individuals in Florida who have signed up to date. 93 percent of Florida consumers who have signed up for coverage qualify for financial assistance to help lower the cost of their premiums.”
