Florida’s Secretary of State Sue Cobb wants the Florida Supreme Court to rule whether a Sarasota referendum requiring a paper trail for all voting is unconstitutional.
Whether or not the referendum question passes, Cobb said it is important for the state’s highest court to clarify how much leeway each county has in setting its own voting standards.
“I think it’s very important for all 67 counties to understand where they stand in respects to our election laws and their capacity to take certain actions,” she said.
