Florida’s COVID-19 cases have topped 450K – 451,442, and with 216 new deaths, blasting past yesterday’s daily record of 186. State positivity rate is 12.26% – the highest in the past five days.
Escambia County had 179 new cases and three deaths. The county has doubled the total deaths it had from March-June in 28 days. Of the new cases, 162 were Florida residents, 42 tied to nursing homes and one to corrections. Â The median age is 39 and positivity rate is 12.7% on 1,264 tests.
In June, Escambia only had eight deaths associated with nursing homes . For July, we have 22 deaths – more than March-April-May combined (18).
Hospitalizations are up 16, bringing total to 396.
Santa Rosa  County had 180 new cases and no deaths. Of the new cases, all were Florida residents, two tied to nursing homes and 141 to corrections.  The median age is 44 and positivity rate is 24.1% on 764 tests.
