Florida has 10,360 new cases, topping 254K, and 186 new deaths, nearing 4200 – according to today’s FDOH reports.
Escambia County has 177 new cases – 168 Florida residents, median age 37 and positivity rate of 13.5%. The county had another death – the tenth since June 30.
Santa Rosa has 57 new cases – all Florida residents, median age 40 and positivity rate of 12.5%. The county also had an additional death.
Hospitalizations and deaths lag behind the rise in positives.
Escambia County had more new cases yesterday than Chicago (174 cases), even though the Windy City did almost four times more tests – 3,637 vs. 1247.
Escambia County also had more cases than King County, Washington – home to Seattle (146 cases). King County conducted 3,035 tests.
Both Chicago and Seattle require face masks.
