We may have found the reason for Scott’s campaign-like “Victory Tour.”

The News Service of Florida reports:

About half of Florida voters disapprove of the way Gov. Rick Scott and state lawmakers are handling their jobs, while U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson get higher marks, according to poll results released today. The Quinnipiac University poll, conducted June 4 to June 15, said 39 percent of voters approve of the way Scott is handling his job, while 49 percent disapprove.

The Legislature did slightly worse, with 33 percent of voters approving of its performance and 50 percent disapproving. The poll was conducted as lawmakers held a special legislative session to reach agreement on a budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1. The session, which ended Friday, was called because the Republican-dominated House and Senate could not reach agreement during the regular spring session.

Meanwhile, voters view Rubio and Nelson more favorably. The poll said 50 percent of voters approve of the way Rubio, a Republican, is handling his job, while 38 percent disapprove. Nelson, a Democrat, got approval from 48 percent of voters, while 27 percent disapprove. The poll of 1,147 Florida voters has a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.
