Foley uses campaign funds for defense

Buried in the Federal Election Commission campaign finance reports is one from former Palm Beach Congressman Mark Foley. Foley, resigned after his sexually explicit emails and text messages to House pages (some of which were sent while he was in Pensacola) were reported in the news. Foley reported spending $277,367 on legal fees with the Washington, D.C.-based Zuckerman Spader law firm while he is under criminal investigation. He has nearly $1.5 million left in his campaign account from previous campaigns. The F.E.C. does allow expenditures for legal fees from such accounts.

Wonder if his former contributors are happy with how their campaign dollars are being spent?
