Free city parking tomorrow

REMINDER: City Offers Free On-Street Parking for Select Dates During the Holidays

Fees for city-owned, on-street public parking (designated by teal blue signs) will be waived on Dec. 23-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1

For five days over the holiday season there will be no charge to park in a City of Pensacola-owned parking space on downtown Pensacola streets, allowing downtown visitors to shop, dine, and enjoy the holiday lights and attractions without paying for parking.

The free parking applies only to city-owned on-street parking, identified by teal blue ‘PARKPensacola’ signage. The free parking excludes parking lots, garages and privately managed parking spaces (Private parking lots are generally identified by red signs). For a map of city-owned parking, click here.

“We’re excited to once again offer ‘Parking Amnesty Days’ to give residents and visitors the opportunity to support local shops, galleries, restaurants and attractions while also encouraging people to shop local during the holidays,” City of Pensacola Parking Manager Lissa Dees said.

Parking fees will be waived for city-owned on-street parking on the following dates:
Dec. 23-25
Dec. 31 – Jan. 1

On these dates, downtown visitors can shop, dine, play and enjoy Palafox Market, Winterfest and the holiday lights illuminating “Florida’s Greatest Place” without having to worry about parking fees, as long as they park in a city-owned on-street parking spot.

City of Pensacola parking is a self-funded public enterprise that isn’t paid by taxpayers but is paid only by those who use the service. Revenues generated from City of Pensacola parking fees stay in the community and are used to fund parking improvements such as lighting, safety features, landscaping and repairs.

“Offering free parking during the holiday season gives us an opportunity to support small businesses downtown while giving a little something back to our community in the process,” Dees said.
