Gaetz finds co-sponsors for bill to abolish EPA

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fort Walton Beach) found three co-sponsors for his bill to abolish the Environmental Protection Agency by the end of 2018 (H.R.861): Barry Loudermilk (R-Georgia), Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky), and Steven Palazzo (R-Mississippi).

Over the weekend, Rep. Loudermilk explained his position on Twitter: “The GA EPD would do much better protecting the environment than a big DC bureaucracy #Federalism”

Exactly what the bill states has yet to be posted the U.S. House website:

“As of 02/06/2017 text has not been received for H.R.861 – To terminate the Environmental Protection Agency. Bills are generally sent to the Library of Congress from GPO, the Government Publishing Office, a day or two after they are introduced on the floor of the House or Senate. Delays can occur when there are a large number of bills to prepare or when a very large bill has to be printed.”
