Gallery Night becomes ‘Fright Night’

On Friday, Oct. 21, from 5–9 pm, Gallery Night Pensacola’s theme of “Fright Night!” will highlight the art of the spooky season and that slight chill in the autumn air.

Gallery Night Pensacola’s unique monthly themes set the tone for each event’s art, performers, musical performance stages, and activities that are sure to please. Gallery Night is an all-ages community arts and culture event on the third Friday of each month from 5–9 pm, made possible by community partner, Publix.

Explore our extensive art zones, sponsored by T-Mobile, hosting more than 50 local artisans and their unique creations in open-air tents along the street sides.

Gallery Night’s October Featured Artist is a collective of artists, members of the Pensacola Muralists. View live paintings created by members Caroline Holland, Eniko Ujj, Patty Sauces, and Dylan Nadsady throughout the evening.

The Pensacola Muralists is a collective group of artists from Pensacola and its surrounding areas practicing various art styles, including graffiti, lettering, realism, pop art, and more. Their purpose is to celebrate street art, strengthen Pensacola’s local art community, and lift their industry through resources and education. The artists are all independent freelancers who have come together and organized the collective to create a strong network, share resources, and offer shadow and training opportunities.

Are you interested in learning more about the Pensacola Muralists? Come out and see the artists painting live, and you will have a chance to meet, greet, and speak with members of the collective.

Crow Road opens the Garden Street Stage at 7 pm before The Taints flood the street at 8:15 pm with their raw and unfiltered energy, reminiscent of The Ramones and The Cramps. Gallery Night patrons are encouraged to stick around between the live shows for another thrilling performance!

Find our Youth Music Project Stage, sponsored by Stevenson Klotz, at the corner of Palafox and Government. Then families are encouraged to venture over to Museum Park and check out Perdido Performing Arts & Production Company, hosting many kid and parent-friendly activities, including limbo and hula hoop contests, plus a Zombie Costume Contest.

Enjoy a mini art zone in front of Artel Gallery with Artel member artists, plus a Palafox Mini-Market on Government Street featuring the market’s finest artists.

Tap into your inner artist and try your hand at spray painting the wall (and support a local charity) at “Legal Graffiti” sponsored by Zarzaur Law, P.A., at the intersection of Palafox and Romana Streets.

Participating downtown bars and restaurants are open and serving guests. Additionally, local shops and galleries will remain open late, providing the opportunity to shop for unique gifts and wares.

Gallery Night Pensacola’s Board of Directors encourages mask usage for those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 or are at high health risk.
