The City Council races are starting. Both Ronald Townsend and Mike DeSorbo have prefiled to run again. There have been rumors that both were retiring from public office. DeSorbo served from 1986-1993, took a two-year break, and has been on the council since 1995.
Expect DeSorbo to have opposition this year.
Townsend also has served a long time on the council. He first served from 1986-1989. Got elected again in 2002. There are no signs that anyone will challenge him this fall.
