Gannett columnist finds new job

City & State announced that veteran state government reporter and columnist Bill Cotterell, who was let go by News Journal’s parent company, Gannett, in the latest wave of staff cuts, will write a weekly column for its website. Cotterell’s columns, sometimes listed as a “guest viewpoint,” appeared regularly in Pensacola’s once-daily newspaper, mostly on Sundays.

Here is his inaugural column for his new employer: https://www.cityandstatefl.com/opinion/2023/01/cotterell-florida-has-never-had-governor-ron-desantis/381322/
