GB editor takes on Moby

Gulf Breeze New editor Joe Culpepper isn’t happy with PNJ columnist Mark “Moby” O’Brien’s latest comments about Gulf Breeze.

Moby wrote: “Gulf Breeze Proper is an oh-so-bully way to emphasize one’s place in the world, pip pap and all of that, chap. It is a land of selfsatisfied burghers who drive to Pensacola daily to make their money, then retire to their side of the bridge, where the grass really is greener, thanks to top-notch yard service.”

Culpepper fired back in this week’s issue: “O’Brien, on his pnj.com biography, says he’s passionate about, and I quote: ‘Writing about what needs to be said. It’s nice to be polite, but it’s more important to point out problem areas.’

So, Gulf Breeze Proper is a problem area, eh? Yeah, that’s right. It’s Gulf Breeze that keeps the Bay Area from being utopia. Forgive us, please! ”
