Gulf Breeze Will Do, a women’s philanthropic group, is recruiting new members with a mixer and recruitment social on Wednesday, Aug. 23. The event will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at Buenos Dias Café, 911 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze.
Who is Gulf Breeze Will Do?
Women formed Gulf Breeze Will Do (GBWD) to help fund nonprofit organizations and individuals trying to make a difference in the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach. The annual membership dues – 100% – fund the grants. Every member has a vote on what gets funding.
“Together we can do so much more,” said President Leslie Perino. “We invite all ladies interested in joining our group to come out to this mixer and learn more about our organization and its mission.”
- To date, GBWD has awarded more than $413,000 to initiatives in the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach communities since its inception in 2014.
“Just last year, Gulf Breeze Middle School got a grant to buy adult and infant CPR mannequins to teach sixth graders how to do CPR, “ said Perino. “And if you think about it, that’s like a perfect age because those kids are starting to get babysitting age. These mannequins will be used for many, many years at that school to help those students learn a life-saving that’s going to benefit our community.”
Annual dues: $250 per person for women age 29+ and $150 for women 18-28 years of age. Women may live in any zip code, but grants will be awarded only to groups in the 32561 (including Pensacola Beach) and 32563 zip codes. Applications can be submitted online at gulfbreezewilldo.org.
