There is a very brief email from Commissioner Gene Valentino to Cy Keefer dated 12/2/08 in which he mentions GE and Jeff DeWeese:
“Cy…FYI… this what I got back from Jeff DeWeese on the GE site on Scenic Hwy.”
Valentino did not release the attachments —which means he still hasn’t complied fully with the public record request.
I called Jeff DeWeese about this email.
“Commissioner Valentino asked me to see if GE would be interested in selling the land across the street from their plant,” says DeWeese. ” GE has about 25 acres on the water that is ideal for several types of developments.”
“GE wasn’t interested in selling,” says DeWeese who ran GE’s Germany operations at one time.
