Get real, EC

scream

The daily newspaper reports that Escambia County plans to trade Pensacola the Escambia County Area Transit system for the West Florida Public Library System. Get real! Let’s quit playing games, Escambia County, and stop trying to pass the buck – literally – to the City of Pensacola. There is a reason why “Pensacola” isn’t in the name of either ECAT or WFPL. These are regional systems that should be the county’s responsibility.

Why should the citizens of Pensacola – who also are citizens of Escambia County – pay twice for these services?

Last week, the Board of County Commissioners went a long way in rebuilding public trust and confidence. Don’t blow it on these political games.
